Hans
I challenge you to study while listening to Pandora's Film Score Radio. I will give you $.50 if it does not change the way you study.

awkward events
I would like to tell you that all of these events happened today:
1) I fully support the idea of walking around campus shirtless. The past two days over by HECC around 1:50 I've seen this very muscular, yet pale, man walking around without a shirt. It's definitely hot enough outside and when you have 35 minutes to get to class why not take the opportunity to tan.
2) I can really tell that 'Howdy' is dying. Today walking over by the ILSB, I decided I'd be the cool upperclassman and say "Howdy" to a girl and her mom. She was wearing her name tag for NSC and I thought it would be something kind for me to do. The response from the mother went a little like this, "Oh, hi. I mean, wait, hello. No, no... howdy.."
3) "Kim, you look really tired today." "Oh, I think 7 hours this first session was a bad idea." "Well, Matt over here is taking 14 this first session. Have a few words with him." I was definitely roasted.

psalm 19
I took this picture when I was in Austin a few weeks ago with my family. It was an attempt to watch the famous bats fly out from under Congress Avenue. The attempt failed, needless to say. At least my picture of Congress Avenue turned out nice and pretty. I even captured two love birds going down Town Lake, or Lady Bird Lake, which ever you prefer to call it.
This is my first summer spent away from home. It is also my first summer to take 5 week summer sessions at Texas A&M University. 'A-a-a Whoop!' If I knew where to start in describing my anger towards the financial aid department, and how I want to punch them all in the face right now, I would. But, I don't even know where to begin. You're the lucky ones!
To go a long with my first time theme, I'm also in the process of packing up my room. This room belongs to the very first apartment that I've ever lived in without my family. Drew and Jessica found me an amazing dresser and bed from Ikea and I cannot wait to set it up in my new place.
"Hey! You lookin' kinda cute; in that polka dot bikini, guuurl!"
If you ever need your soil analyzed feel free to let a girl know. I'm currently in a soil science class where the lab consists of playing with soil to determine the porosity, bulk density, particle density, and what percentages of clay, silt, and sand that make it up. This is my first agriculture class at A&M. I'm glad I'm getting to experience hands on what the A in A&M stands for.
Until next time,
Kim

'assassin'
Note: Don't look at the posted date. I begin these blogs and it takes me a while to finish them. The real date of posting is February 8, 2010.
A friend of mine read my last blog, laughed, and told me that it seemed like I thought that I was a music critic. I disagreed. But, on the contrary, I decided to go with it and told him that I would now write something about a different artist in each of my future blogs. I haven't decided who will be my next victim.
Quick Fire: Could teaching high school students really be that bad? I changed my major recently to Bio-environmental Sciences and am entering the accelerated teaching certification program here. Everyone who asks me what I want to do with the degree just looks at me like I'm crazy when I mention that I want to teach science at the high school level. My brother and sister have offered me a place to stay so that I hopefully can student teach in Katy ISD. I'm really excited to see where all of this goes. Things really seem to be falling into place.

How do people afford to go to college?
I went and bought a few of my books a couple of weeks ago for this spring semester, $599.00. Is $200 for a used book really necessary? That wasn't even the start of it all. To add to it all, of course Texas A&M University is currently contemplating how much to increase next semesters tuition. Quick Fire: Could teaching high school students really be that bad? "Been up all night staring at you, wondering what's on your mind. I've been this way with you so many times before, but this feels like the first time"
It's now exactly one month until Kyle and I will venture into Austin to see John Mayer perfom at the Frank Erwin Center. Of all of the concerts I have been to this is the one that I am most excited for. What makes it even better, I have an Organic exam that day. It will be a nice relief from a weekend full of studying.
Buses: I have a tendency to get on the wrong one and have to frantically find the route on my iPhone to figure out where I need to get off. Let's hope in 10 minutes that I get on the right one.
